Celebrate American Craft Week With The Seagrove Potters

Special Events, Kiln Openings and Demonstrations Set for October 7-14

SOUTHERN PINES, NC (September 21, 2023) – Seagrove potters have exciting activities planned to celebrate American Craft Week from October 7-14. Visitors are invited to browse and purchase new works fresh from the kilns, have an opportunity to meet the potters, enjoy refreshments, watch demonstrations and learn more about the pottery process at participating shops.

Some participating shops may offer hands-on experiences while others will provide guests a unique journey of discovery to learn more about why Seagrove was voted America’s #1 “Town for Craft Lovers” in a nationwide poll conducted by organizers of American Craft Week.

With a pottery tradition that spans more than 200 years, Seagrove remains a special place to visit. More than 100 ceramic artists call Seagrove home, offering a diverse selection of handmade pottery and ceramic art to learn about and from which to choose.

Visitors are encouraged to pick up a map that includes photo examples of individual work and directions to the more than 50 pottery shops in the Seagrove area. Seagrove pottery shops are open throughout the year and welcome visitors.

Many of those shops have special events and activities planned for American Craft Week. Visit www.DiscoverSeagrove.com for a list of participating shops and more information. These events are free and open to all ages.
