The Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area is known for golf, but it is also home to several inviting wine bars, a nearby award wining vineyard and a sweet little cider house. There are plenty of things for wine enthusiasts, restaurants, and fun things to do and explore when you are in town. The Sandhills Wine Trail Passport is designed to guide you around Moore County and beyond where you can enjoy a beverage and our cool, Southern vibe. So, whether you play golf, or not, anyone can tee up a good time with some friends, a passport and a few rounds at our favorite 19th holes.

Ask for a Passport at any location included in the Sandhills Wine Trail and they will issue you one. Or, stop by our office in Southern Pines (across the street from the Growler Company) – 155 W. New York Ave., Suite 300, Southern Pines, NC. Preview the Passport here.
Upon any purchase at each location, ask for the special sticker to be placed on their feature page. You are one step closer to earning your very own Sandhills Wine Trail prize!
When you have collected all six stamps, bring your fully stamped Passport to the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area CVB (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) and receive a wine aerator or a wine tumbler.
Also, show a fully stamped passport and for a limited time receive an extra prize! While supplies last, receive one (1) Donald Ross 150th anniversary coin. The Ross coin is a one-of-a-kind collector’s item and celebrates the acclaimed golf course architect who designed hundreds of courses across the country, including many of them in the Pinehurst area, including Pinehurst No. 2, Pine Needles Lodge & Country Club and Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club.
All certified stamped passports will have the name of the owner entered into a drawing for a chance to win a future two-night vacation to the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area.

In 2002, Dan Smith, a fourth generation descendant of Daniel and Catherine White, along with his wife Tina, returned to the ancestral farm. For thirty years the land had called and we could no longer stay away. Cypress Bend Vineyards officially opened its doors in late June of 2005. After four years of cultivating thirty acres of muscadine variety grapes, Dan and Tina Smith decided to share their passion for these grapes with the public.

Veteran owned James Creek crafts premium hard ciders from Southern heirloom and cider apple varieties grown in their orchards in Moore County and on other family farms. The cider house has a tasting room and cider garden with nine taps on site, plus bottled offerings. Patrons enjoy cider tastings and views of the orchards. Apple pressing demonstrations and tours are special events, but food trucks and live music are featured regularly.
